Please help stop a bill that would make it easier
to build new polluting garbage incinerators in
California! AB 2118 (written by Assembly member
Matthews from Modesto) attempts to disguise some
incineration technologies, such as gasification,
pyrolysis and plasma incineration, by wrongly
classifying them as "non-combustion."
These incinerator technologies use combustion
and emit dioxins, heavy metals and other pollution.
PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL BY APRIL 3, 2006 to
the Assembly Natural Resources Committee, which
will hold a hearing on this bill on that day.
The Chair of this committee is Loni Hancock, Assembly
Member for the 14th Assembly District in the East
Bay who is a champion of public health and the
environment.
Use the email
form below to email the entire Assembly Natural
Resources Committee.
