The Global Action Day Logo

Here's the suggested logo - in black and white and in full color - for the Global Day of Action against Waste Incineration on 17 June 2002. Concretely, we suggest that you use the logo in the publicity and information materials that you will do in conjunction with the Global Day of Action (for example: press release, announcement, fact sheet, cyberalert, banner, placard)

At the center is the Earth,
depicted ala-Yin-Yang, with the incinerator representing the element of darkness (Yin) and the nations and communities struggling against this polluting technology as the element of light (Yang).
The running arrows reflect the interdependence of all beings and mirror GAIA’s vision to create a closed-loop economy where all products are reused, repaired or recycled back into nature or the marketplace. The arms, which embrace and protect the Earth, symbolize the power of people’s solidarity and action to bring into fruition a just, toxic-free world, without waste and incineration.
